During the first half of the nineteenth century, musical culture was one of the most active artistic spheres in Buenos Aires. Of the many practices that were performed in theaters, societies, academies and private spaces, singing predominated in the Buenos Aires musical scene. It seeks here to investigate the links that enabled the taste transit between two musical supports that firstly seemed to share only the lyrical aspect: the opera buffa and the romantic song. In this regard, t this work aims to show that several elements of the main narrative topics in the romantic song, already circulated in the Buenos Aires society, as they were the plot of the main rossinian operas represented.
