Among the large groups of people that marched to the Holy Land during the time of the crusades were persons specialized in some kind of medical activity. In many works it has been declared that the training this physicians possessed was poor in theoretical terms. Statements of this kind were due to biased lectures of different sources which allowed the shaping of the superiority picture of Eastern science and medicine in comparison of that of the Europeans. However, recent criticism has proved that the analysis of these stories must be redefined when thinking the scientific development that Europeans achieved in the Latin East. In this work we explore on different fragments of many histories and chronicles of the time for those elements that promote the reassessment of the idea about the inferiority of Europeans physi-cians and the general picture that presents the crusader world like an unfavourable space for the development of knowledge and medical practice.
