This article takes up a broader investigation of anarchism in Argentina in the inter-war period. Its main objective is to analyze the impact of the beginning of the Spanish Civil War on the anarchist movement in Argentina based on the spread and debates in the most important press and cultural magazines of the period -La Protesta, Acción Libertaria, Documentos Históricos de España and the magazine Nervio- and the memories of the protagonists of this experience. Presented by the press and major anarchist cultural magazines as a historical opportunity, the debates revolved around characterizing what was revolutionary about the situation that began in July in 1936 at the international level. Moreover, the Spanish Civil War presented an opportunity to make visible the experiences of anarchist women in ways that had never before been represented in the pages of the more traditional publications of the anarchist movement, while also reinforcing transnational networks, editorial projects, and repositioning certain figures within the movement.
