Hypertension is one of the main CVRFs, with a high prevalence in the adult population and a significant burden of morbidity and mortality. Despite advances in its diagnosis and treatment, a considerable number of patients remain undiagnosed or with inadequate BP control, which increases the risk of complications such as heart disease, stroke, CKD, and target organ damage. The Argentine Federation of Cardiology (FAC), the Argentine Society of Cardiology (SAC), and the Argentine Society of Arterial Hypertension (SAHA) have developed this document, incorporating the most recent advances in diagnostic and treatment strategies. Changes supported by new scientific evidence and evolution in therapeutic techniques are highlighted, with the aim of optimizing the management of hypertension and its impact on cardiovascular health. Our main objective is to unify criteria for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of hypertension, providing a clear and accessible reference tool for all healthcare professionals. The importance of early detection, establishing therapeutic goals based on the best available evidence, and optimizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment is emphasized.
