This paper analyzes the clipping and writing strategies through which a set of texts taken from Os Sertões, by Euclides da Cunha acquired the status of independent stories in Revista Multicolor de los Sábados (1933-1934). In this illustrated supplement of literature from the Argentine newspaper Crítica, directed by the writers Jorge Luis Borges and Ulyses Petit de Murat, the poetics of clipping – inclusion of fragments of texts from other supports recontextualized along with other contents – oxygenated literature and encouraged experimentation and manipulation.
