Objetives: To know and systematize the current modalities of perinatal mental health work in argentine public maternity hospitals, as well as to characterize the personal styles of psychologists and psychiatrists working in maternity hospitals. Methods: The proposal is approached from a quantitative approach, with a nonexperimental cross-sectional design. We worked with professionals from provinces and from the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, in Argentina, where mental health services exist. An Ad Hoc survey was designed, where data from each institution were explored, the Therapist's Personal Style Questionnaire was used, in an abbreviated version, and an Ad Hoc survey to know the academic training data of perinatal mental health professionals. Resulted: The preliminary results of the Ad Hoc surveys and the Therapist's Personal Style Questionnaire, abbreviated version, obtained from the ongoing research are presented. Conclusions: The relevance of the research lies in the possibility of knowing, describing and systematizing the possible interventions, devices and existing protocols of perinatal mental health, in maternity or maternal and child hospitals in Argentina. This will allow an ordering of the activities and scope of perinatal mental health professionals. It will also make it possible to analyze and describe the personal styles of therapists working in argentine public maternities, and to make a comparison with those mental health professionals who work in other public institutions in the country.
