This work arises within the framework of an interdisciplinary research project which articulates the fields of community mental health and public archaeology, in order to address the relationship between participatory actions on past recovery and promotion practices in mental health. The aim of this paper is to describe and analyze the main conceptual developments that allowed us to establish convergence points conforming a common epistemic framework. From a conceptual review and a recapitulation of the foundations that sustain the practices in each field we have arrived at the identification of the notions of integrality, daily life and participation as points of convergence. This process allowed us to build bridges of interdisciplinary dialogue and configure a common epistemic framework to develop our research strategy. We hope that this work will contribute to the discussion about the methodological challenges of interdisciplinary research in the social sciences.
