The search for nutritional strategies to improve gut health and productive performance in piglets during the rearing phase has gained relevance in the context of increasing restrictions on the prophylactic use of antibiotics. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of three alternative dietary treatments on productive parameters in post-weaning piglets. Two replicates of 400 animals each (Choice Genetic line) weaned at 21 days of age were used. Animals were randomly assigned to four groups (100 animals per group per replicate): a control group fed a basal diet (T), a group supplemented with inulin (A), a group receiving essential oils of oregano and clove combined with sodium humate (B), and a group receiving the combination of both additives (C). The trial was conducted until 70 days of age, and feed intake, average daily weight gain, and feed conversion ratio were evaluated. Group B showed the highest final body weight among all treatments, which corresponded to the greatest average daily gain and the lowest feed conversion ratio by day 70. Group A showed transient improvements in productive performance until day 40, which were not sustained through the end of the trial. In contrast, group C exhibited a similar trend, although without reaching statistical significance at any of the time points evaluated. These results suggest that essential oils of oregano and clove combined with sodium humate represent viable strategies to enhance feed efficiency and growth in piglets during the rearing phase, while inulin supplementation alone does not demonstrate a sustained effect.
