Quality of life, environmental quality and socioeconomic level are dimensions of the concept of population welfare that can be integrated into complex indexes. However, we wonder to what extent this dimensions articulate at urban scales, where the settlement patterns of population are related to complex causes. This article attempts to answer this question using Buenos Aires Metropolitan Region as the area of study. Environmental quality is analyzed using an index specially designed for this purpose and the socioeconomic level is obtained utilizing a proxy (educational environmet of households). The analysis is divided into two parts: the first examines the dimensions in the jurisdictions that make up the metropolitan region of Buenos Aires, while the second explores the spatial relationship between them.
