The complex and dynamic urban growth processes, which originate the heat island and dry island effect, require the development of studies which not only identify and describe these phenomena, but that also allow the forecast of these events, specially in arid environments. This study covers the modelling of the relative humidity behaviour and the air temperature of vegetated sectors in the city of Mendoza. The accomplished analysis not only shows a new focus on the modelling of urban climate variations of temperature and humidity related with green areas through the simulation of various urban sceneries, but also intends to contribute to the construction of a conceptual idea that explains the principal interaction between vegetated and built areas throughout the development of the heat island and dry island effects.
