This paper will describe the work that perinatal psychologists have been doing in the context of COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the definition of ‘essential activity’, we will address the modifications that our work went through to make it possible, staying present and committed and advocating the necessity and importance of words and communication. The flexibility of our working practices enabled us to adapt to changes and to play an active role in the challenge and opportunity that the pandemic represents. The experiences of the Provincial Maternity Centre Dr. Teresita Baigorria in the province of San Luis and the Municipal Hospital of Morón in the province of Buenos Aires will be recounted.
