The article reflects, in a general way, on the problem of landscape, and particularly on the issue of visibility/invisibility of metropolitan landscapes that articulate contemporary spatial logics. Based on the analysis of a singular case located around a popular healing scenario that is activated in the periphery of the Moreno district (Buenos Aires), we wonder about how specific landscapes are configured and activated with concrete practices, geographical materials and social meanings linked to “devotion” and “hope”. Who and how reveal these hidden landscapes? What practices and cultural codes demand the visibility of this landscape? What material and symbolic transformations affect these landscapes in question? These will be some of the questions that will articulate our reflections. Through the analysis of spatial narratives, web ethnographies, virtual cartographies and interpretation of the material and symbolic landscape, the visibility/invisibility interplay of the landscapes of devotion and hope anchored around popular healing practices in the metropolitan periphery of Buenos Aires will be explored.
