Mujeres privadas de libertad: El continuum histórico de las violencias institucionales y sus procesos de subjetivación desde una perspectiva de género

Abstract

Se presenta un análisis de las voces de mujeres privadas de libertad a fin de comprender el continuum de violencias al que se enfrentan dentro y fuera de la cárcel. Los testimonios que se analizan pertenecen a dos mujeres detenidas, en dos momentos históricos clave para comprender la especificidad del encierro punitivo y las mujeres: los años ´70 en la cárcel de Devoto y la actualidad en la Unidad N° 8 de la localidad de Los Hornos (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Las voces de las mujeres propician nuevas miradas sobre las prácticas del poder punitivo, la justicia y el servicio penitenciario especialmente, desde un enfoque de género y feminista.The aim of this article is to analyze the voices of women deprived of their liberty in order to understand the continuum of violence they face inside and outside of prison. The testimonies analyzed belong to two detained women in two key historical moments to understand the specificity of punitive imprisonment and women: the '70s in the Devoto jail and the present time in Unit N ° 8 of the town Los Hornos (Buenos Aires, Argentina). Women's voices give new insights into the practices of punitive power, justice and the penitentiary agency, especially from a gender and feminist perspective.
