In August 2025, the 16th National Meeting and 10th International Congress of Oral History: Testimonies, Memories, and Resistance in Times of Denialism was held, organized biannually by the Oral History Association of the Argentine Republic (AHORA). The inaugural panel of our meeting was entitled Voices in Resistance, the Dictatorships of the Southern Cone, and Militant Memories Half a Century Later and consisted of a dialogue in which member Victoria Bona invited two researchers from Santiago, Chile, and Rosario, Argentina, to reflect on the tensions, impact, and projection of their research work in recent times. Dr. Marianela Scocco (UNR/CONICET) and Dr. Rolando Álvarez Vallejos (USACH) shared their insights on the potential of oral history in their research and discussed the challenges of their work in the difficult context we are currently experiencing. Encouraged by the continuity of the meetings and debates that this panel sparked, we, the members of the editorial committee, decided to include a summary of the event in this issue in our section Con voz propia.
