The first one, in 1988 and before the neoliberal boom, in the state owned Gas Company and the second one, in 2004 in the privately held telephone companies. This paper focuses on the mass media strategies in both union conflicts to show how news press, through their agenda setting, give priority to some events and actors, and put others away.
