The aim is to discuss methodological advances in the field of everyday creativity. Specifically, we address issues related to momentary ecological methodologies that involve successive assessments of daily events in natural environments. We present the three main designs of ecological valuation: daily studies, sampling of experiences and contingent design of events. In addition, we point out the potentialities and limitations of these methodologies in the investigation of creativity. Likewise, we analyze current studies that appeal to these designs and indicate their main contributions in the understanding of everyday creativity in real and particular contexts. Studies indicate interesting relationships between creativity, positive emotions, motivation, well-being and health. The analyzes allow us to conclude that studies in natural contexts generate promising alternatives for the construction of original creativity research designs, recognizing the role of actors and contextual variables in the development of creative actions. We believe that studies in natural contexts can generate significant knowledge that contributes to the design of empowerment policies based on creative actions in diverse communities.
