This paper presents the bioarchaeological analyzes of a multiple burial found by chance, unsystematically excavated and without documented contextual information. The set was recovered from the judicial field since, after the presentation of scientific evidence to the prosecution, the case was closed and it was referred to the patrimonial sphere. The burial site is located in the town of Agrelo, in the Center-North of the province of Mendoza (Argentina) and corresponds chronologically to the middle of the Late Holocene, a period characterized by the incorporation of cultigens and diversification in the use of resources. The bioarchaeological studies allowed establishing the minimum number of individuals, characterizing the sex-age profiles and describing the general state of health. The taphonomic analyzes and the evaluation of the representation of skeletal parts allowed us to reconstruct the burial pattern. In addition, the results of the stable isotope analysis referring to diet and water consumption are presented, as well as a radiocarbon dating performed on human bone. The results are integrated and compared with investigations carried out on contemporary burials in neighboring regions with other purposes of discussing aspects of mobility, diet and lifestyle of populations.
