Favores cruzados: Ecos del cambio institucional en la correspondencia entre Francisco de Prieto y Pulido (Buenos Aires) y Juan Antonio Ruiz Tagle (La Plata), 1768-1798

Abstract

Con la correspondencia mantenida entre 1768 y 1798 entre Francisco de Prieto y Pulido (Buenos Aires) y Juan Antonio Ruiz Tagle (La Plata) como eje se aborda la observación de la incidencia de los cambios institucionales en la relación que a su vez muestra de modo indirecto la elevación de Buenos Aires a centro de poder con la creación del Virreinato del Río de la Plata. En el camino, a través del contenido del intercambio, se observa el papel de las relaciones interpersonales en la administración de justicia y diversos aspectos del mundo de valores que transpiran de sus acciones y de sus dichos, que muestran sujetos férreamente anclados en la cultura jurisdiccional y aparentemente sin advertir que ese mundo se está desmoronando.Using part of the correspondence (1768 and 1798) between Francisco de Prieto y Pulido (Buenos Aires) and Juan Antonio Ruiz Tagle (La Plata) as its axis, the work observes the incidence of institutional changes in the relationship between them. It also indirectly shows the elevation of Buenos Aires to the center of power with the creation of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata. Along the way, through the content of the exchange, we observe the role of interpersonal relationships in the administration of justice and various aspects of the world of values that transpire from their actions and their sayings, which show subjects firmly anchored in the jurisdictional culture and apparently without realizing that this world is falling apart.
