This paper focuses on the conditions of women's participation in the software and information services (SIS) labor market in Argentina. Specifically, it aims to estimate and characterize gender gaps and barriers in the software labor market in the post-pandemic period using quantitative methods. Based on the observation of the low participation of women in IT activities both globally and locally, the literature review shows that research has focused mainly on the conditions prior to entering the labor market and less on the conditions faced by women once employed. In particular, few studies quantify these conditions in Argentina. Building on previous work that analyzed the Sysarmy IT Workers Survey (Guitart, Rabosto, & Segal, 2022), this article aims to contribute to the measurement and characterization of women’s participation compared to men's in the software sector labor market, through a descriptive data analysis. The study is cross-sectional and uses the Permanent Household Survey (Encuesta Permanente de Hogares, EPH), the country's main socio demographic survey, as its primary data source.
