Abstract

The hydrogeomorphological characteristics of the Claromeco basin, located in the southeast of the province 8uenos Aires, Argentina, are described .The river which flows across a plain, results from the confluence of three courses. To analyze and study the basin satellite and topographic charts were used. The knowledge of the dynamics of watercourses is fundamental because of their influence upon land use and area development. The management and control of basins determine the feasibility of a rational land use and the possibi lity of diversifYing the economic activities according to their morphological featu res. The upper basin is characterized by cattle raising acti vities, the middle and lower basin is characterized by fanning and agricultural activities.
