Resumen

Friston et al.’s path integral formulations [1] primarily focus on evolving a ‘strange particle’ in an interactive exchange with its external environment. By behaving through their internal dynamics and encoding a Bayesian belief system over hidden causes, the authors suggest that these particles seem to discern their actions, encompassing both external and active pathways of sensation. However, a critical aspect seemingly overlooked in Friston et al.’s discussion: the intrinsic function of these particles in generating non-equilibrium states, fostering self-adaptation, and enabling the alteration of functions is obscure in how the particles maintain a non-equilibrium in response to environmental changes.
