Presidents have a strong performative capacity to shape collective worldviews, including how the past, present and future are considered as their own or not. This identity distinction ("we / others") in a temporal perspective can be analyzed in the cases of Lula da Silva in Brazil (2003-2006) and Néstor Kirchner in Argentina (2003- 2007), to observe to what extent two of the presidents of the Latin American “left turn” share a world view of political time in the region.
