In Argentina, since the beginning of the new millennium, community responses to drug abuse have been developed from both the State and civil society, focusing on the characteristics of the territories where they take place, which can be defined as a territorial approach to drug abuse. In this article we describe and analyze the strengths and challenges of this territorial approach to drug abuse developed by state agencies, specifically those belonging to the Secretaría de PolíticasIntegrales de Drogas (SEDRONAR) in Argentina. The methodological strategy is qualitative, and is based on the analysis of ten semi-structured interviews with key informants carried out between 2017 and 2019 and of participant observations in different devices in the country.
