In this paper we analyse a series of maps published by father Furlong in order to understand the geographic imaginary of the Jesuits in Quebrada de Humahuaca and its eastern border, which formed part of the Paraguayan Jesuit Province. For this purpose we classify the different types of information that provides the body of maps and compare them according to the different styles or schools that produced them. Thus we examine the information contained therein as well as the role that would have served within the Jesuit enterprise of spiritual and territorial conquest.
