Resumen
AMR surveillance is frequently framed as a need to mon-itor resistant microorganisms of animal origin. Yet a OneHealth approach requires reciprocal adaptation: not onlyexpanding surveillance in animals but also rethinking humansurveillance systems to capture resistance mechanisms rel-evant across sectors. Without such integration, One Healthrisks remain a conceptual framework rather than an oper-ational strategy for addressing antimicrobial resistance. Finally, collaborative efforts between human and veterinarymedicine could contribute to greater standardization andmore effective AMR surveillance.
