he integrity evaluation of the tanks against blast loads is relevant due to the economic and environmental impact that their collapse can have in these situations. The coupled analysis of a tank subjected to explosions with a multiphysics program with explicit integration is presented in this paper. The study starts from the modeling of the detonation of the explosive charge, considers the propagation of the pressure wave in air and the interaction with the tank walls. To validate the model, pressures, displacements and tank buckling modes obtained in this paper are compared with those recorded in tests. The spatial distribution at height and around the tank of pressures resulting from the interaction of the explosive wave is obtained. It is concluded that the flexibility of the structure practically does not influence the resulting pressure values on the tank. On the other hand, the results of the coupled analysis are similar to those of the uncoupled analysis with simplification in the load distribution.
