Th e purpose of the present study is to put forward the potential of ethnography for the construction of a «situated perspective on gender». Firstly, this approach revisits the concept of «situation» proposed by Simone de Beauvoir. Th us, it is crucial to recognize the diff erential objective framework wherefrom women and men project themselves as free subjects. Secondly, this perspective recognizes the existence of a «situational hierarchy» inside of the women’s collective, which positions us women in unequal loci of enunciation and action. Th e unfolding of this approach will be done along with the ethnographic research I have been carrying out since 2007 with indigenous women who take part in the women’s movement in Argentina.
