It advances the hypothesis that the book constructs fictional worlds through the appropriation of the Japanese manganime imaginary, superimposed onto Río de la Plata realities, thereby evidencing a form of fan-based knowledge that structures the writing process. The methodology combines textual analysis, a comparative approach, and tools from cultural studies, particularly in relation to pop cosmopolitanism and intermediality. The study analyzes themes, narrative devices, hybrid genres, and Japanese cultural references present in the stories. Its main objective is to demonstrate how these otaku writings reconfigure local science fiction, projecting “Nipponized” futures and highlighting the role of Japanese mass culture in literary imagination and in the construction of meanings about humanity and its future.
