This writing seeks to explore different animal narratives. I start from my experience in the biological sciences to then investigate the ways in which historically the hegemonic scientific perspective has denied any possibility of encounter. Then I will present other literatures, scientific, philosophical and poetic, that question modern dualisms and understand animal knowledge as a knowledge that arises, as a between, from those uncertain and inevitable encounters. In particular, I will investigate the work of three South American poets: José Watanabe, Susana Villalba and Marisa Negri. Questions will be raised about what poetics, in science and arts, can enchant this world and enable friendly and multispecies ways of living.
