In this paper we intend to inquire about the journey carried out by the Department of Community Psychology and Social Pedagogy since its creation and the transformations that have taken place in it for the consolidation of what we currently known as School Orientation Teams (SOT). In the reconstruction, theoretical and normative contributions that were a guide for the consolidation process of the Directorate will be addressed. This writing will be based on the analysis of educational policies, at the national and provincial levels, to understand the mutations of the direction. In addition, it is important to bear in mind that the breaks between educational models and styles do not always coincide with changes in government (Braslavsky, 1983). In this way, we are going to find five stages in which transformations in the political and ideological orientations of what we currently known as the Directorate of Community Psychology and Social Pedagogy are evident. Some of the features that we will work on are the type of interventions that were proposed for the primary level, their work in the school and those characteristics that allow us to problematize the concept of territory for the SOT.
