This article is concerned with the rotation of relativistic quantum stars. Similar to what happens in flat space, we show that ground-state coherent quantum systems are non-rotating. In the case of neutron stars, which can be considered as fundamentally formed by a superfluid, the angular momentum is due to the presence of vortices, which to a large extent determine the observable effects from the outside due to coupling with the crust. Its density and distribution is crucial in the dynamics of the star. Here we study the gravitational effects that modify the vortex distribution and find remarkably significant effects, with corrections for realistic models of the order of 15%.
