This article proposes a reflection on the authoritative sources of the “classics” that define the teaching and learning processes of anthropology in the global South, especially in Brazil and Argentina. Starting from a critical and retrospective analysis of the content of the disciplinary "classics in anthropology" in national universities of the two countries, and observing the almost total absence of women in those proposals, we target here the strategic inclusion of an anthropological writing made by women – whether they are formal anthropologists or write with an anthropological perspective - observing the methodological peculiarities of the fieldwork and the epistemological possibilities raised by some chosen female authors, namely: Aurinha do Coco, Lia Zanotta Machado, Rita Segato, Oyeronkẹ Oyewumi, Ifi Amadiume, Lorena Cabnal, Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui e Leda Kantor. We propose that the inclusion of these women's contributions in the anthropological syllabi from universities and institutes can stimulate a systematic review of the “classics” in our field. Thus, it will be possibile to question the paradigm of white masculinity has been currently learned, reproduced and inherited by generations of anthropologists educated in our Global South countries.
