The purpose of this research is to analyze Arturo Ardao’s writings from his earliest works in the field of Uruguayan History of Ideas to his later forays into the Latin American context. Also it analyses theoretical works that were simultaneous. In them he raises his anthropological ideas and his vision of the human being as a spatial and temporal subject. The notion of space was decisive and prior to the time. Using hermeneutic methodology, we conclude that for the overlapping of both lines of his works, the History of Ideas was the search for different forms of spatial placement of the human being in his self-consciousness.
