La ficción de origen de escritor

Abstract

The answer to the question “How did I become a writer?” takes the form of an identity narrative in which the author narrates the experience of his transformation. These stories, generally named myths of origin, constitute a genre that we propose to study under a theoretical-methodological device: the writer's origin fiction. With this concept, we propose to interpret these stories as strategies for the construction of the image of the writer and, in this sense, we read it in its autofigurative dimension. At the same time, we maintain that an ideological dimension unfolds in this narration, since an ethic of literature functions there, that is, a conception of the literary. Finally, due to the reflection on the origin itself, we understand that this fiction condenses themes and procedures typical of the author's work, that is a poetic dimension. In this article, we also propose a method of approaching and studying the stories of the origin from the tracking and reconfiguration of the narrative material that composes them and a hypothesis about a common underlying and ordering narrative structure.
