In a context dominated by the legitimation crisis of traditional institutions, and a motivational deficit, disinterest, apathy, or a predominant atmosphere of «the end of politics» or «postpolitical », the defenders of «Populist Reason», among which Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe should be highlighted, support the affective identification of the people, and the recognition of the collective and partisan nature of politics, promoted by populism, for a radicalization of democracy. The present work aims to analyze this populist claim of the affects and its form of configuration of the people, from the reflections of Ernst Cassirer on the «political myth».
