The synergic relationship between different biases and heuristics has long been detected in the field of human thinking research. The aim of the present study is to suggest a theoretical and empirical proposal for the articulation between the anchoring effect and the varieties of calibration. Anchoring phenomena are concerned with the fixation of certain cognitive processes after the introduction of some information. Calibration is defined as the relationship between subjective and objective registries of success. The present contribution states that all possible calibration phenomena can be generated through anchoring manipulation. The materials and procedures applied in the experimental study are concerned with abstract reasoning tasks. The scope and limitations introduced by these materials are discussed in the context of the current psychology of thinking theories.
