The Second World War consolidates the foundations of an experience of culture within which new relations knowledge-power modified the ways of understanding the body. Turned into the hardware of a genetic software which consolidates an informational episteme, the body will enter in a signs regime which makes of it one more sign of the capitalism that can be consider semiotic, informational or cognitive. The technologies of life-information that assemblage the unpredictable, making total any otherness, will intervene it not only to correct it, but to generate it and to design it. The body-object-design, appears like totalizer of any other virtually possible body. However, and moreover: at the same time, it is capable to function critically in front of the moderns logics, gnawing from inside the rules and behaviors of the material reproduction of contemporary world. As a good hybrid, between totalization and power, the cyborg-body, will show some of the tensions being experienced by contemporary subjectivities. This text highlights those bodies and its tensions just as they are showed in bio-art and transgenic art as contemporary artistic avant-garde.
