Características geológicas y mineralógicas del sistema de vetas E-O del distrito minero Andacollo

Abstract

El distrito Minero Andacollo se ubica en el flanco occidental de la Cordillera del Viento, 2 km al oeste de la localidad de igual nombre en la provincia de Neuquén. Las rocas más antiguas del área corresponden al Grupo Andacollo (Paleozoico Tardío; Danieli et al. 2011). Este grupo está dividido en las Formaciones Arroyo del Torreón, (Méndez et al. 1995) compuesta por ignimbritas y tobas de composición dacítica a riolítica y la Formación Huaraco (Zollner y Amos 1955) que representa una secuencia marina de lutitas, areniscas y conglomerados.The Andacollo Mining district is located on the western of the Cordillera del Viento, 2 km to the west of the town of the same name in the province of Nuequén. The oldest rocks in the area correspond to the Andacollo Group (Late Paleozoic, Danieli et al, 2011). This group is divided into Arroyo del Torreón Formation (Méndez et al. 1995) composed by ignimbrites and tuffs of dacitic to rhyolitic composition and Huaraco Formation (Zolner and Amos 1955) a marine sequence of shales, sandstones and conglomerates.
