We analyze the four episode super heroic miniseries Flex Mentallo, created by Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely and published by DC Comics in 1996, using some intuitions and concepts that spring from Gilles Deleuze’s philosophy. We try to describe the original narrative form that takes shape in the superhero comic, on one side, and the critique that this miniseries exerts over the form, on the other. Over this layer of analysis we incorporate the assertion that Flex Mentallois also an autobiography, a product of a vision of the world and some peculiar experiences. We try to describe the way these two strands interconnect and how that connectivity speaks about the creativity of the superhero comic.
