El futuro del trabajo en América Latina: Crisis, cambio tecnológico y control

Abstract

Este trabajo analiza las distintas tendencias que determinan el futuro del trabajo en América Latina; se hace especial hincapié en revisar la hipótesis que pone el impacto del cambio tecnológico en el centro de la explicación de los cambios en el futuro del trabajo. Se discuten los estudios referidos al impacto potencial de estas transformaciones tecnológicas en el mundo del trabajo, ya sea tanto en el empleo y la calidad del trabajo, como en el aspecto del control y la disciplina laboral. Asimismo, se analizan otras tendencias importantes que podrían sobredeterminar el mercado laboral.This paper analyzes the different trends that will determine the future of work in Latin America; it reviews the hypothesis that places the impact of technological change at the center of the explanation of changes in the future of work. We discuss the studies on the potential impact of these technological transformations on the labor world, in terms of employment levels, the quality of work, as well as the aspect of control and labor discipline. Also, other important trends that could over-determine the labor market are analyzed.
