There are today many debates about the place of archives within the registering and documenting of the horror of violence and death. In particular, there exists an ethic and aesthetic problem within the ϐictions and documentaries about the Malvinas/Falklands war regarding the place of images which refer to a collective trauma. Apart from the artistic productions about that conϐlict, this issue opens another dimension when considering the testimonies of those who, in a way or another, had traumatic experiences linked to the space of the Malvinas (Falklands) islands. In this context, in our paper we will analyze the possible connections between the notions of archive and testimony in the documentary La forma exacta de las islas (2012), of Daniel Casabé and Edgardo Dieleke. We will try to understand the new meanings of the narratives about the Malvinas (Falklands) war and a new practice in the space where the conϐlict of 1982 occurred. In this respect, we attempt to contribute to think how the individual memories of subjects relate to the collective trauma.
