Training Environments (TE) are central to the teaching and learning processes in technical education, especially for carrying out practices where the knowledge built throughout the academic trajectory is put into play. This article aims to answer questions about the composition and scope of the training environments of technical and vocational education institutions in the Automotive specialty. The answers to this question arise from the implementation of the Training Environments Self-Assessment Device (DAEF), designed during the research, based on the prior analysis of reference frameworks and jurisdictional curricular designs, interviews with key informants, observations of the Training Environments (EF) in different schools, and of productive and commercial spaces linked to the automotive sector. This survey device was answered, in the form of a self-administered questionnaire, by members of the management teams of a sample of 15 schools with the automotive specialty. As for the results presented, they are part of an exploratory investigation regarding the composition and status of EF, and in this sense, they should be viewed as potential inputs for conducting new research, as starting points for the development of diagnostics, and for establishing new discussions.
