Since the incorporation of Patagonian territories into the Argentine national state, the northwest of Chubut has experienced a significant migratory flow that reshaped its population dynamics and spatial organization. This study aims to characterize the quality of life during the early stages of settlement in the region, with particular attention to the period prior to the establishment of the Comisión de Fomento of Lago Puelo in 1928. The research is based on oral testimonies from descendants of early settlers, which provide insight into representations of various social dimensions linked to settlement and everyday life. The analysis seeks to contribute to the understanding of socio-historical dynamics at a local scale and to the preservation of intangible heritage which, in the face of contemporary processes of homogenization, is essential for making visible the diversity of regional memories and identities.
