In this article I propose to analyse the workers’ experiences in the Estexa textile factory in Rosario during Argentina’s last military dictatorship (1976-1983) from a perspective that articulates class and gender. I am trying to reconstruct some elements of the history of the factory, its origins, the sections that made up the factory, while at the same time looking at the forms of factory discipline and the bosses’ strategies for building consensus. In particular, since the company had a large number of female workers, I am interested in studying the employer’s gender policies, as well as the different experiences of male and female workers with regard to discipline, conflict and the repressive processes unleashed in the factory during the last argentine military dictatorship.
