The debates that emerged at the end of the last century regarding state economic intervention have been redefined in recent years, alongside evidence of an increasing economic role of State-Owned Enterprises on a global scale, including cases of nationalizations in Latin America. This underscores the current need to deepen research into such enterprises over the past decades. Within the research field of State-Owned Enterprises, this article aims to analyze the case of Investigación Aplicada Sociedad del Estado (INVAP) in post-Convertibility Argentina (2002-2015) to understand the factors that influenced its development, the extent to which the firm structured its capabilities and resources, and the nature of its adaptation to the national context during this period. The hypotheses suggest that INVAP’s accelerated growth was conditioned by increasing domestic and public demand, transformations in the institutional framework, and internal processes of diversification and productive integration.
