Resumen
Understood as complex socio-spatial constructions inwhich the social, political, economic and affective life of people on a planetary levelunfolds, cities open up diverse challenges for both the academic field andpublic policies in the 21st century. This chapter addresses the main thematiclines and analytical concerns of Working Group 02, "Cities and the Politics of Sensibilities", of the InternationalNetwork of Sociology of Sensibilities (RedISS). Despite their undeniableheterogeneity, the works converge on a common purpose: to investigate thereconfigurations that are observed in contemporary cities, simultaneously problematizing the experiences andsensibilities that accompany these transformations. After discussingthe main nodes of the politics of sensibilities observed in cities today, thechapter closes with some analytical vignettes that could tentatively be thoughtof as part of an international research agenda on the current connectionsbetween cities, sensibilities and society.
