This study examines food insecurity (FI) in urban Argentine households with children and adolescents between 2018 and 2023. Using panel data from the Argentine Social Debt Survey (EDSA), the FGT-2 severity index of FI is calculated and decomposed into persistent and transitory components. Results indicate that 37% of households experienced FI at least once, and that 61% of overall severity is attributable to persistent conditions. The role of structural factors in persistent FI highlights the need for comprehensive policies integrating formal employment, basic infrastructure, and sustained social protection.
