This article examines the integration of generative artificial intelligence (IAGen) into secondary education (specifically, within the area of Language and Literature) through an analysis of official documents, guidelines, and pedagogical proposals, as well as the underlying perspectives on the teaching of reading, writing, and language reflection that emerge from them. To what extent is the use of artificial intelligence conceived in relation to the development of specific skills? What is the ultimate purpose of its incorporation into the educational sphere? Addressing these questions entails an examination of the forms of knowledge and skills that students are expected to develop, and those it may be legitimate for them to delegate, and in this case draws on the learning objectives established by the curriculum frameworks of the GCBA. As a criterion for distinguishing among practices, the analysis employs the cross-cutting axis of complementarity versus substitution. Finally, the paper underscores the importance of prior reflection on the nature of artificial intelligence and its relationship to reading and writing practices, so that the inclusion of these tools in the classroom may serve clearly defined pedagogical purposes.
