Asymmetries in economic development are considered obstacles in the negotiations to intensify the integration processes. At the same time they constitute justification for bonding a region. In the Caribbean the latter take crucial issues. The objective of this article is to observe whether intensification of Caribbean integration has been accompanied by a reduction process of such asymmetries. The overall results show evidence against that hypothesis, although the specific analysis of the particular experiences in contrast to the overall result shows a varied reality and leading to the formation of convergence clubs.
