In this work, the thermal and physical properties of residual salts from the lithium carbonate industry are determined. These properties include heat capacity, chemical stability, and morphology of the structures, which are determined using differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetry, and scanning electron microscopy, respectively. Based on the results, the potential implementation of these residual salts in solid-state heat storage systems is analyzed from the perspective of thermal energy storage capacity, considering the large quantities of residual salts found in the brine deposits. It was found that the samples exhibit a heat capacity ranging from 0.767 J/g°C to 3.143 J/g°C in the solid phase. Additionally, this work discusses other aspects related to the potential development of a circular economy, considering the replacement of molten salts for thermal storage with residual salts in solid-state, operating in a range between 250°C and 300°C, and the possible reduction of environmental impacts through the reuse of residual salts.
